A 13 year old male from Traralgon has been remanded in custody and will appear in children’s court today after driving a stolen vehicle into a residence on New Year’s Eve.
It’s alleged that the young boy stole his mother’s Hyundai Station Wagon and was seen driving it erratically through the streets of Traralgon.
Shortly after the teen then crashed into a house on Cameron Street at around 9:25pm on December 31.
The family inside the house were uninjured and the 13 year old was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
La Trobe Highway Patrol attended to the vehicle and its alleged the boy gave a positive breath test reading at the scene.
Later, the driver returned a reading of 0.021 percent on the evidentiary breath test and police are still awaiting results on a drug test.
He was then charged with a range of offences including:
• Reckless conduct endangering life;
• Drink driving;
• Theft of motor vehicle;
• Drive manner dangerous;
• Unlicensed driving; and
• Commit indictable offences whilst on bail
