Drugs, Firearms and Snakes Seized in Morwell Raid

Police have seized a number of unregistered firearms, cannabis plants and snakes during a warrant in Morwell today (Jan 16).

Latrobe Special Unit police recovered five different firearms, including four longarms and a pistol, when they raided the Booth Street property just before 10am.

Accompanying the firearms were large amounts of ammunition and three cannabis plants which were growing in the rear yard of the property.

Wildlife officers from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning at Traralgon arrived at the property at around 11am, whereupon five snakes were also removed from the house.

A 20 year old man from Morwell is expected to be charged with a number of drug, firearm and animal cruelty related offences and will appear in an out of sessions court hearing tonight in Traralgon.
