A man has returned an extreme reading from a breath test, after police intercepted him just west of the Latrobe Valley.
The 47-year-old was caught using his mobile phone while driving, then returned a blood alcohol test of .248 almost 5 times the legal limit. He was also found to have a disqualified license.
His car was immediately impounded at a cost of $878.50 for 30 days.
He will be charged on summons for mobile phone use while driving, driving while disqualified and high range drink driving.
