Around 254 hectares have been burnt by a bushfire at Mcdonald’s Track in the Seaview area. The fire broke out on Saturday in the timber plantations and has so far burnt approximately 100ha of private land and 140ha being eucalyptus plantations. No houses have been damaged.

The ADVICE MESSAGE still applies from that of previous updates and there is no threat to any communities.
Firefighters will remain on the scene overnight to blacken hot spots and clean up.

The fire is currently 254 hectares in size and still not yet under control.
The ADVICE MESSAGE is still in place from the previous update.
Firefighters are continuing to work on the fire day and night to get it under control.
The steep terrain and current severe weather conditions are proving difficult firefighting conditions and the weekends forecast of damaging north and northwesterly winds of 60-70km/h will not aid this.
The weather makes authorities to predict an increase in fire activity and smoke due to high winds.

The fire is currently 254 hectares in size and is still not yet under control. The steep terrain is making access and fire suppression works very difficult and time consuming.
An ADVICE MESSAGE has been issued for Allambee, Allambee Reserve, Cloverlea, Ellinbank, Ferndale, Gainsborough, Seaview, Trida, Yarragon and Yarragon South.
Authorities are concerned about high temperatures and strong winds suggested in this weekend forecast which could worsen fire conditions. Please continue to check bushfire information and surrounding conditions.

Fire is currently 254 hectares in size and still not yet under control – this is due to the steep terrain of the area
Good progress has been made with control lines but are still not around the whole perimeter of the blaze. This is expected to be completed by tomorrow (Wednesday 14/03/18).
ADVICE and WATCH AND ACT messages from previous updates still apply due to the unpredictable weather in the area of the blaze.

There is a 230ha bushfire in the MCDONALDS TRACK, SEAVIEW area.
Burning out operations are now being exercised but it will be difficult to control the fire due to the steep terrain.
More favourable weather conditions today will assist authorities to fight the blaze and enforce control lines more effectively.
An ADVICE MESSAGE has been issued for Allambee, Allambee Reserve, Ferndale, Gainsborough, Trida, Yarragon, Yarragon South.
Residents in the immediate area are being advised to enact their bushfire plan.
There is no immediate threat to communities but keep informed and leave if you need to.
