Morwell/Moe men charged with ball bearing gun attacks

Latrobe Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two men and a teenager in relation to a series of incidents in the Latrobe Valley.

The men were arrested after a long investigation into several incidents where ball bearings and marbles were allegedly fired at victims, shops, houses, as well as a series of road-side fires.

The offences occurred in Traralgon, Morwell, Yallourn, Moe and Hernes Oak between June 2018 and March 2019.

A 38-year-old Morwell man received 37 charges including criminal damage by fire, criminal damage, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, recklessly causing injury and lighting fires during a fire danger period.

An 18-year-old Moe man received 40 charges including criminal damage by fire, criminal damage, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, recklessly causing injury and lighting fires during a fire danger period.

A 17-year-old boy, also from Morwell, will face 38 charges including criminal damage by fire, criminal damage, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, recklessly causing injury and lighting fires in a fire danger period.

They are all due to appear in court at later dates.
